Here at Stone Tower, we use the term “Reserve” for the combination of the extraordinary fruit and the wine making technique used by our winemaking team. This wine is truly a shining example of a wine that should carry the label Reserve. In sight the wine is ruby red with a lovely rose halo.  It is rich and full with a beautiful nose of red current, violets and a touch of cinnamon and baking spice. The palate explodes with red currant, plum and smooth luxurious tannins.  As the wine finishes you experience an old-world elegance with supple tannins. The wine is poised and has incredible grace and balance.
This should be enjoyed with grilled and roasted meats as well as pasta and wild game. For the vegetarian enjoy this wine with roasted or grilled mushrooms, tomatoes, eggplant, bell pepper, onions, black beans, potatoes, and squash.  The wine pairs beautifully with pizza. Serve this wine at 62 – 65 to highlight the incredible nose and palate and to perfectly complement food.
In the French wine world, they say “vin de garde” (wine for laying down) when the wine is age worthy – although very enjoyable now this wine will deepen and soften over the next five to seven years. Drink now through 2030.
The wine is 100% Merlot, from blocks K and M. The wine is 13.8% ABV.  It was fermented in stainless steel and elevaged for 16 months in 100% French oak, 40% new.  The fruit was harvested starting on September 27th, 2022 through September 30, 2022.
