Maison Sanglier – “House of the Wild Boar.” This wine is produced just outside the village of Pommard AOC. In accordance with French law, the wine can only carry the label if the grapes are 100% from the Pommard AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée). Our holdings in this area have now been sold, but we have this lovely 2019 Pinot from the area, and it is a stunning example of a classic village-level pinot noir. The wine is a fun wine, so different from those we see in the United States. Do a side-by-side with one of our Wild Boar Pinot Noirs – both terrific, but you will see how this shows all of the characters of Burgundy.
