This Wind Swept Hill is produced from the season’s best Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The wine is almost equal parts of these two varietals and a stunning example of the Right Bank Bordeaux style wine Stone Tower has become known to produce. The blend of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon results in an incredibly well-balanced wine with a lush texture and soft tannins. The nose is a mélange of black cherries, chocolate, and black and red plums. On the palate, the wine explodes with rich, ripe fruit, and as the wine finishes, the soft smoothness of chocolate appears – it is simply sensational. As the wine ages, we will see more of the chocolate and some slightly earthy characteristics. Enjoy this wine now, or if you can wait, it will get even better. Drink in the next 8-10 years.
