Our Wild Boar Cellars ‘Porton’ is our take on a ruby port-style wine made from Norton, a native grape of Virginia. Crafted by stopping fermentation with the addition of Catoctin Creek Brandy, the resulting wine is incredibly rich, deliciously sweet, with a beautiful backbone of acidity that keeps the wine feeling fresh. This style really shows off the unctous dark fruit aromas of black cherry and plums that characterise the Norton grape. For a fun – and delicious – experiment, finish your next dinner party by serving glasses of Porton along with both of its classic pairings – blue cheese and dark chocolate – to see which pairing your guests love most.
