2019 Viognier

$40.00/bottle Out of stock

When we first planted grapes back in 2009, we started with Viognier and that original 2.8 acre block is
the sole fruit source for this small production wine. Native to the Northern Rhone Valley of France (in and around the village of Condrieu), this grape produces intensely aromatic wines that have a beautiful medium- to full-bodied texture and are typically produced in a dry style. From a viticultural and winemaking standpoint, there is not much room for error with Viognier and is therefore quite challenging, but when you get it right, it produces a highly complex and distinctive wine. This wine is blended with Roussanne and Marsanne. Marsanne adds a touch of fat, richness, and oily textures while Roussanne brings more acidity, elegance and aromatic complexities to the Viognier. The wine is food friendly – especially ginger, saffron and coconut and other spicy foods. The wine is capable of aging!

90% Viognier, 5% Marsanne, 5% Roussanne. 100% French Oak.
