Unquestionably, Merlot is one of the planet’s recognizable varietals, but surprising to many is the grape’s extreme pedigree. Throughout the world, Merlot produces some of the most complex, delicious, age-worthy, and expensive wines, and this wine is inspired by those iconic wines and our plantings on Hogback Mountain. With this bottle, we hope to highlight the unctuous, textural, and hedonistic fruit qualities inherent to Merlot and age if for nearly 18 months in French oak. This full-bodied red has also benefited from extended aging in bottle, and we expect continued development through 2027!
